Many visitors to the Island dream of owning a traditional Madeiran country cottage, either restored or to restore, which retains the charm of old. Well, look no further. This property has all of these characteristics, and more ... a truly unique combination of XVIIIth century charm and modern comfort, in a location as rich in tradition as it is in natural splendour. Main House Traditional construction (Mid XVIII century) built in stone. The house is made up of a living room (of approximately 50m²), with a Victorian fireplace in cast iron. The fireplace has a heat recovery system which serves to distribute heat to all the bedrooms. This space is immaculately decorated with XVIII / XIXth. and XXth. century furniture, paintings, rugs and modern sound and video equipment. Upstairs are two bedrooms, with approximately 20m² each, with respective decoration and linens. A bathroom with shower, wash-basin and toilet serve as support for the bedrooms. A small landing / hall completes the upper floor area. The kitchen is made up of antique units, including a stone oven dating from the construction period of the house. It is also equipped with a micro-wave, refrigerator, dishwasher, oven, table, stools, dishes and cutlery. Two Madeiran balconies, adjacent to the bedrooms, and a store room, complete the house. The later houses the water heater and pump, as well as serving to store the gardening tools and accessories. The Guest House This construction, designed and built to complement the main house's design and style,was completed about 14 years ago. It's purpose is primarily as accommodation for 'turismo de habitação' (a popular form of rural tourism in Madeira), and is made up of three comfortable bedrooms, each with private bathroom, a small lounge and and balcony. All areas are properly equipped and furnished to ensure comfort. The Gardens Mature landscaped garden with decorative plants, fruit trees, shrubs and lawn, making up the approximately 1300m² of total land area. |
